Out of Character Information(OOC)

Solaris Base Station is a full immersion 3D virtual roleplay game played in SecondLife. Mission story arcs are designed to allow improvised plot and character development. Missions are played on USS Gallant a Federation starship, alien vessels, space stations and alien planets. Casual, immersive roleplay may take place on Solaris 1 planet surface or explore roleplay visiting other Sims on the SecondLife grid.

Who we are

Humans and others from the allied races of the Federation and Non-Federation. Sent to this location due to do research and set up a communication array to supply information its proximity to other sectors of unexplored space.

Given the distance from Sector 001, the Solaris system inside the maxi sector establishing peaceful relationship with other colony with different infrastructure was considered wise.   Fae’via the oldest planet in this system is home to a unique indigenous species but we have been allowed to put a small present of a federation Colony on its southern hemisphere.

The Solaris Space Station (aka Starbase 32) was decommissioned in 2395.   And with the continuing need of keeping a information route. The Federation Rebuilt Solaris in orbit around Fae’via in a drawing knowledgeable of chaos within other sectors, there may be tensions with the inhabitants of other planets and the new threat of the Warren Gateway in a nearby sector.

Where we are

The Maxia sector is a region of Federation space in the Alpha Quadrant. It bordered the Actium and Sierra sectors. Starbase 32 was located in this sector

Location of Maxia labeled on a star chart (2259)

Solaris I – Class M – Fae’via:

Solaris I, known as Fae’via to the indigenous people, is a perfect example of a Class-M planet, and then some. A mild planet-wide climate but also known to have 4 seasons, a land/water ratio of 1:3, a thick atmosphere, the biosphere is a natural Eden. There exists an unclear interaction between the Solaris sun radiation, and the planet’s own magnetic fields which makes Fae’via a truly magical world. The diminutive Faevians have the power of flight granted by their wings and the thick atmosphere, they have displayed significant Esper abilities. Starfleet maintains only minimal noninvasive presence on the planet itself and since contact many Fae’vians have chosen to join Starfleet.

Solaris II – Class D Raxon,
A rocky grey world rich in mineral salts

Solaris III – Class J The eye of Telak
(a large gas giant with a storm similar to jupiter) ~some fav’ian mythology perhaps??

Solaris IV – Class H Ticororia
Shrouded in a thick layer of cloud this dead world is suffering an extreme greenhouse effect minimal studies have been done as to what its surface is like.

Solaris V – Class K Ii’unter (Eye-oun-ter)
An uninhabited ice world that could be adaptable with pressure domes

Asteroid Belt – in recent years being mined by the Dytalix Mining Corporation who in a novel approach hollow out the rocks and use them to shield from the star’s radiation

Several outer planets of Solaris System  in dispute of Mix sectors ownership via treaties in Maxia Sector during the wars( This system is remembered as the place where the Battle of Maxia occurred in 2355.) and has become a pirated route to many alien races

Nearby threats to the sector is the new present of the Warren Gateway located near Outpost 79. Studies has indicated that it could be a interdimensional gateway between other dimensions of time and space bring in new threats into our galaxy.

Civilian Role #1 - Non-Roleplaying Member

This is a Solaris member who doesn’t wish to roleplay Startek, but will be attending events & activities and/or helping out with the group or organizational functions. Or it could just be a friend who wishes to be a member and look in from time to time. There are no requirements of a civilian member, but Solaris your membership will last for eons. In the *SI Solaris Base Station Member tag

* Linden labs TOS policy, Solaris Base Station of no Drama and respect is followed in terms of all members

Civilian Role #2 - Roleplay Character

This is someone who has decided they’d like to undertake to roleplay someone or just hangout as some alien visitor on Solaris 1 Planet,

It could be someone from Earth or one of the allied planets.   People It could be a Tellarite. Think back to DS9 and the various civilians aboard the station. It could be Tellarite representative to argue a issue on Tellar Prime, or someone who runs the Solaris bar or club, etc. These kinds of characters need to have a background story that fits within the context of the Solaris Story Arc that is vast and can be open to ideas.

They can roleplay with others; they can write stories or logs for the forum. It can be as simple as going to the Solaris Bar for coffee to share about the bad freighter cargo and working overtime they’ve been doing, or as complex as insisting the Solaris Command to adhere to local Docking rules.

Solaris Member aka "Civilian Members"(further designations might be made in future). Solaris Members are welcome to come as you are IC or OCC  wear something representative who you are and or your group: your character’s position
